Sleeping Beauty... thankfulness...

Sleeping Beauty
I was listening to some music, and Bethany was drinking her milk. All of a sudden she sat up, and I thought, so much for the rest! I looked down on her seconds later and she was fast asleep in my arms. That is where she has laid ever since.

I just moved to sort the laundry, and do some housework but couldn't resist writing about her. She brings me more joy than I could ever have thought, I am so thankful to God for giving her to us, to nurture, to love, to enjoy, to watch. I don't feel like I have enough words to describe the wonderful gift that I have been given.

Thankfulness
I am so delighted to receive my second treasure this December. My heart is so excited at the thought of meeting my second baby, and if he or she is even a tiny weeny little bit like Bethany Hope there will be so many entertaining moments in life. Every single whine, tooth cutting and upset night pails in comparison to the adventure I find myself on in raising Bethany. With two, the adventure can only get more and more exciting - I look forward to meeting you baby bb2. You are already so loved, you are growing perfectly, you are welcome into our little family, you are a world changer and your destiny is immense. There are so many things that we have in store for you, so many stories to tell, we cannot wait to meet you and see your little personality shine through, your first cry, your temperament, the way you will respond to your first bath, how you will sleep - or not!

Bethany's tights

I was dressing Bethany and put on her fairy tights. I asked her who was on them, she replied
"It's Jesus!"
I was unsure of what to tell her, I began to talk about the angels, Jesus' friends. She agreed it was the angels - who look after her, and Jesus. I love that although I have told her about Jesus, the Father, the Spirit and the angels that she is beginning to experience it for herself. She is on an incredible journey of truth as she learns who Jesus is to her.
I asked her if Jesus was living in her heart, she had a good look inside of her tshirt and said 'no'. How literal, she needed to see Him to believe! I am praying that she will SEE him and know more of Jesus. However, she has begun her relationship with Jesus, her prayers are full of thankfulness, she is grateful for God and what He does for her - she will always pray for people to get healed, and hold their hand to pray, followed by a cheery AMEN!

This morning, I asked her if she had night stories - dreams - and she told me:
"the angels were singing to me in my bed, just me Mama!"
How adorable, of course I wanted to know what they were singing, but as yet, I don't know. We want her to continue to experience the supernatural and allow her to make this a normal experience for her.

That her life will be an extension of everything that we have experienced. May our children come into a deeper relationship, and greater freedom than we have ever known. Amen.

2 years 2 months

This week we have had so much fun together. Again.

New words and phrases:
'I can't reach'
'I can't hear you' - with fingers in ears

Sweetest prayer
Me: Dear Lord Jesus thank you for....
Bethany: A lovely day, my lovely friends (anticipated her saying food, but what a thankful heart)

Most used phrase this week
'Okay Mama, Okay'

Cute but naughty...
Finding a lipstick, or lip gloss, or lip balm and then saying 'Bye Bye Mama' and running off to hide in a really small crevice to EAT the lip balm... She loooooves it! The thought that she has to run away and tell me she is going to do something a bit naughty makes me smile!

Monday: B had croup, and was 'infectious' so after dancing her little heart out at Church on Sunday we had to spend a few days without friends. She got given clogs and clothes from Mopsie and Grandpa who had been in Holland. She is learning to sing all eight verses of 'A Mouse Lived in a Windmill' with Ellie!
Tuesday: We went shopping and to Starbucks with Ellie. Finally took Beth into French Connection store to show her the clothes she has always been wowed by - and thinks they belong to Arnie! (Monsoon is where she thinks sells my clothes!!) She spent the afternoon with Sandy and then sobbed for a long time because she wasn't able to play with her kitty cat - as she had frightened him so much by cuddling him that he ran away.... She was heart broken :(
Wednesday: Ellie came over, we baked cakes and then waved Ellie off for India. Beth must think our family spend their life on the airplane as one of us is always coming or going! Then we went to see our cousin and her children - including four week old Isobel, such a sweet babe! Her 2nd cousin Lucy looked after Beth so much that they ended up playing together upstairs like big girls, despite the 2 year age gap!
Thursday: For the first time I can say that Bethany enjoyed Preschool this morning. She was happy to go in. I reassured her that I would be near if she was too upset. And that she could pray if she needed help or friends. As I collected her I heard her laughing and chattering to herself which is the first time she hasn't started whinging or asking for 'ulk' when she sees me!
Friday: Such a lazy day. And then a special trip with Daddy to the Zoo. What a fun week we have had together.

I am so blessed by my little girl. I am so thankful that God gave me such a beautiful, free-spirited gift of life. Bethany, we love you more than words can say and pray that me and your daddy raise you as a girl who loves, who cares, shares and enjoys every second of life. You never cease to amaze us. Love M and D xxxxx

ps this week, Bethany has been sleeping through the night and until almost 9am a few days :)

Going to work Mama

Bethany just walked to the door, collected her headband and shouted "Bye Mama".

I asked her where she was going, to hear the reply "I got to work Mama!"
Of course, she has a very important job! So off she toddles to the (newly created) playroom and starts doing her work on the chalk board. I would love to go in and see what she is drawing but do not want to distract her. Oh too late! After 5 minutes of work she came to tell me the board rubber is 'dirty one'. She still has her headband on aswell!

So off she goes to the fridge and I hear the words "It's my ulk, a big one!"
There are now two BIG cartons of milk in the lounge... It must be time for milk!
